I just watched Silent Hill and i'm quite confused?

what was the deal with husband/father not being able to see mother/wife and his daughter?

the mum and daughter are in a different world as they are already dead after the car accident in silent hill. the father is still alive. even thou they are in the same house, they can only sense each other's present but not able to see.

I watched it the other night. The effects were great, scary monsters and stuff, but the story had way too many gaping holes in it. They didnt develop the characters enough for you to get personally involved in the movie. And if they were already dead, what was the deal with the cop? Ok, so she died when her bike crashed, so why was she killed again? If everyone was already dead, why were they acting like they were afraid to die or get hurt? and the end, the little girl telling the mom what happened was really cheesy and smacked of video games.
I still liked it though

I feel the same way you do. I watched the movie, mainly from behind my hands, but I never understood it. Especially why the husband didn't see his wife and child.

omg... i just watched it yesterday and i wuz like the same way! so i googled it. most people sed it wuz because the mother and daughter had relly died and they were relly ghosts
