i used flour as a loose powder one day out of curiousity because i heard baby powder was used to absorb oil in hair. it worked well and looked fine (i know it's white, but my skin is quite pale). my question: Is flour bad for your skin? is it worse than the talc that's in most all powders?

I guess not. I mix loose powder with cornstarch. This won't change the color of the powder and will give it extra oil absorbing properties. Once I used Quick as powder on a black model and the pictures game out beautiful.

It's natural, so probably not. My friend and I were dressing up as freaks for some reason and we wanted to be pale so we used flour. Heh. I'm pale, but I'm not white.

I don't know if it's bad for your skin, but are you serious? Are you really so pale that flour looks OK? I would think it would make you look like night of the living dead.

Uhm, i think the flour's grains is too large to give you a smooth finish, i suggest you buy real powder.

I wouldn't think it was harmful to your skin but if it got wet it would get a bit cakey.

Use what ever you like at the risk of looking like a pillsbury biscuit.
