such as if you found out your child was going to have mental retardation or major physical problems.

I am not pregnant...I just got stuck in an abortion clinic for my rotations and was wondering what peoples views are on abortions.

By STUCK I meant that i was STUCK in the clinic without a choice...I do not care what people do..and its an abortion clinic, not your 'im poor' clinic like you are talking about. I do not judge people, I never said I did...I was just wondering under what circumstances, do people find it OK to have an abortion. The only people I judge that come into the ABORTION CLINIC are the girls that have been there 3 or 4 times...you cant POSSIBLY make that many mistakes...abortions are not a form of birth control. So get your facts straight before you go off ranting for no damn reason.

I've been asked that question before and that's a hard one ,me personally the only way I would even think about it would be if I were raped..and then I don't know for and certain if I could then..I believe God only give SPECIAL need babies to people that will truly love them ..I know my brother is a special need person and one thing about those SPECIAL children they love unconditionally..I couldn't abort a child just because it was going to need Special attention , there is someone out there that would love to take that child if you didn't..

I suppose I could understand if someone was raped, even though its not the baby’s fault its father raped its mother. or if it was physical unsafe for a mother to carry child at which she shouldn’t just get an abortion but should have her tubes tied or her uterus removed. If the baby had some horrible defecated like no brain or something

The thing is there are many people who can’t conceive and would be more then willing to take someone’s unwanted baby, babies go like hot cakes in the adoption world since most people want a baby.

Sadly some people use abortion as a means of birth control, and pro life or pro choice I would think everyone would agree that is just wrong.

Yes. Maybe not because the child has a mental illness but perhaps if the mother is unable to care for the child, the mother is too young, the mother's life is in danger and so on. A lot of people bring up the adoption aspect of it and say that if the child is not wanted then it should be born and put up for adopton. Well, what about all those children who are all ready up for adoption and cannot find homes? This Earth is all ready populated enough with the elderly, the young, and the rest. Abortion is the woman's choice. If she feels she can't take care of the child then let her decide what to do. I also feel that children who are concieved during a rape would be okay to abort. Everything is about the child to some people, but, really, we should have to take the mother's emotions in consideration as well.

Let me start with this line-I'm not sure if this question is directed to me,or anyone in general,so I'll take it personal.aand as such since it it asked to me-you're not going to like this.In your opening statment"I was stuck",so i'll asume you are at the very least in the medical field.You were "STUCK" where any woman in an abortion clinic needs your help the most."Stuck",what a nasty term-perhaps you will consider another line of work after i have finished my answer-and remember,you made the statement,then had the gall to ask the feable question.

I've had an abortion at a young age only because mom made me. It was the most painful thing emotionally, and I would never have another one. My personal only, but to each his own. If you feel that you cannot allow this child to suffer do what you feel needs to be done. You are the one that has to look at yourself in the mirror for the rest of your life, can you handle it?

Well I found out my first born was going to be born with a major birth defect and Dr.s assumed she would be a vegetable but she happens to be an a/b student in sixth grade!!! I do believe in the cases of rape or incest that a choice for abortion should be given to the woman. I also believe in a woman's right to choose, I dint think It should be used as a form of birth control, but there are some people who should not be mothers, but for me, I do not think I could do it my self, Interesting question, you are going to get some interesting answers.

i do not think abortions are ever okay there is always the choice of adoption in the case of young pregnancy , rape or incest do not kill the child for your mistake or someone Else's pervertedness any mother would give there life for there child so why not your unborn child and as far as mental retardation or birth defect Dr never knows for sure until birth so why kill a living unborn child you will love the child just the same maybe even more

When you agree to have intercourse there is always the possibility of pregnancy, whether it was planned or not planned. Even if you use contraceptives, the risk of pregnancy is there. Abortion in my eyes is not appropriate. Life begins when sperm meets ova and fertilizes it. Abortion therefore is murder, if you don't see it that way, it's merely an inconvenience to you. If the child is going to be born with mental retardation or other diseases or malformations that is a risk you are accepting by having intercourse, you don't want a baby or a baby with defects...don't have sex.

remember, women get abortions for more reasons that just an unwanted pregnancy. Sometimes the mother's health is at risk or the baby's health is at risk. Sometimes women get pregnant as a result of rape. Its not always just irresponsible people getting knocked up and not wanting to deal with the consequences of their actions. Please don't forget that.

Unfortunately, many abortions are performed because of irresponsible adult behavior resulting in unwanted pregnancies. Abortion should NOT be used as a method of birth control.

Every woman should be able to make those choices for themselves, not the government. If the reason she is choosing abortion is because the pregnancy is unwanted, I personally feel she has given up her right to bare children and should be sterilized. There's many women who never even have one opportunity to conceive and those who are fortunate enough to be able to should be allowed to abuse that priveledge.

Getting an abortion is never okay not even if you are raped.

I was raped when 14 and I did not go cry like a little ***** to kill my baby because I understood that this baby was a part of me and was likely not to be anything like the father so sad a child can understand this but close minded adults can not.. Also if people who got raped would go to a damn hospital right after it happened we would have less babies being murdered because they offer the morning after pill
