You may want to try the creams they have at the health food stores. Or even look into a "spit test " from the pharmacy. They help to keep your hormones in balance. Of course the spit tests are more accurate. The pharmacist takes a sample of your saliva to see if you are deficient in anything, and then comes up with a cream to rub on your stomach, arms and thighs to replenish the things you need. My mother was on it and it helped soooooo much. She could not tell, but we DEFINITELY could, especially when she ran out.

The only thing I can suggest to you is to go to your doctor to see if he can prescribe some hormone pills. Other than that I don't know. I went through menopause at he age of 48 and still now at 55 get hot flashes. I don't take hormones because some of them can cause cancer. My doctor gave me Xanax for those day that I need to get control of myself. Discuss it with your Doctor, if he has an understanding of the female body he will help you. If not find a Doctor that does. Don't give up trying to get help. I went to 2 Doctors before I found one that helped me.

I'm confused - if you're still having a monthly period, you're not going through menopause - unless tests have shown you're peri-menopausal.

If that's the case, you know, as women, we're all different. I used to feel kind of mean during my monthly (VERY different from my usual personality). I didn't like that feeling, so I would just get a little quiet. I would suggest discussing this with your ob-gyn. I've found their advice to be really helpful.

Have you spoken to your doctor? There is HRT to help with mood swings, hot flashes, and sleeplessness. I take a very small dose of Prempro and it helps me keep sane. Not everyone is successful with every medication or herbal supplement, but your doctor should be able to help you find something to help. If not HRT, maybe a mood elevator would be the answer. Women DO NOT have to go through menopause in misery. Go seek help. You may even find help through alternative methods such as reflexology, Reiki, accupuncture, massage, etc. You are not alone sister.

I am thinking of you. (((hugs)))
