They are a mess, and when I tore up the old liner, a whole bunch of dirt came up too. They told me at the nursery not to let dirt get on top of the new plastic as that is a breeding ground for new weeds, but I have no idea how to get rid of the dirt from the rocks.

Just hose it down and it'll be fine.

Try rinsing them off in a bucket or wheel barrow. The dirt will settle to the bottom. Take the clean rocks off the top.

Best thing to do is get a pressure washer. Went through the same thing not long ago and hands down by far the pressure washer is the to go. They look brand new and you won't be transfering old weeds or bacteria back into your new one Good Luck

Put a large screen on a wheelbarrow and sift the rocks before you put them down on new plastic.
