It could be a clairvoyant warning or it could simply be a psychological fear.
I had a dream a while ago that my father was in a serious motorcycle accident. I advised him not to drive his bike for a while. It could have been superstition or it could have been intuition. I figured it was best to be safe than sorry. My father did not ride for a while and is alive without incident.
Trust your feelings but don't get hysterical about it. By living your life in balance you will find the appropriate actions you need to take.

I had a falling out with my best friend many years ago - he was like a kid brother to me. A couple of nights after the argument I dreamed that he fell into a lake just below a dam and got dragged into a whirlpool - fitting because we often camped, hiked, swam, or rafted together. In the dream I watched him struggle and cry out and disappear into the swirling waters and drown. It was very realistic and not like a dream at all and I woke up shaking, sweaty, and terrified.
A few days later and as a result of the misunderstanding (which it truly was) he ended the friendship of six years and a couple of weeks later moved to another state.
I believe death in dreams symbolizes a change or rebirth for our relationship with the person we dream about. In my case it was a fear of losing my friend over a stupid misunderstanding that never should have happened in the first place.
Dreams typically aren't literal but figurative and deal with issues we are facing in our own lives.

It could just mean that you were supposed to be thinking of them for some reason. Maybe you should call them and see how they are, perhaps they are going through a hard time. It could mean that you need to not take that person for granted. Or perhaps you had a premonition that something bad is going to happen...but it doesn't have to mean that they are going to die. Whatever you think the meaning of the dream is, is probably more significant.

It usually means that you are either worried about them or if you just had an argument with them you feel bad. things of that nature. Dreams really don't mean all that people say they do, I am studying science and have been for two years. All those dream theories that were discussed like ones by Sigmund Freud were all debunked. sorry to burst the bubble there, but I'd say that you love them and are just not wanting them to go away yet and your worried.

I've had those dreams, even woke up crying. Nothing happened to those people though. I once dreamed my little brother (9) was dead in the bathroom. He's almost 31 now and still alive.

it could be that it doesnt mean anything... but to help your own feelings about it, talk to someone, share your experience with them...
ive had dreams often that ended up coming true, but usually not ones that had alot of feeling attached, just ones that were daily and mundane.. still if i have a bad feeling about it i let the person know..

From the old folklore, if you dream of a death (anyone) that means there will be a birth in your family. You must actually see them die in your dream.

it reaffirms the love u have for that person. that tells u that u have a special relaionship with that person. don't worry dreams are dreams. on the plus side, its like a second chance to be closer with that person. don't worry about something u thought of in your head.

It usually means birth (someone is preggers), but there are more factors that have to be analyzed....like more details of the dream and what certain things symbolize for you.
