Bettas generally can take 1 teaspoon of salt per 2.5 gallons. This is enough for mollies, as honestly they really don't need any. (With molly I'd be more concern with my KH level being in the 10-25 range.) That said the added salt will reduce the chance of disease in both molly, and betta. In a big tank you will need to worry more about the betta than the mollies. A male betta is simply to slow to caught up with a molly. Just be careful as the larger mollies may decide the betta's fins are to tempting a target.

As to the salt, bettas can live in freshwater, but they actually prefer slightly brackish.
As to whether they are suitable tank mates, it really depends on the temperment on the betta, the size of your system, and the amount of mollies. Don't even try it if you have under ten gallons or more than three or four mollies per ten gallons.
If you decide to try, make sure that you have the tank well planted to give plenty of hiding places for your fish. A couple of cave-like ornaments would be nice, too.
Be prepared to remove the betta if things go wrong. It can even start to go wrong after two or three weeks, so don't assume it will be OK after a few days.
Personally, I wouldn't do it, but I know of people that have done it, and it seems to be successful. Of course, I also know of people that have done it unsuccessfully.

A betta (pronounced bet-tah, not bay-tah) should be fine with mollies, he shouldn't bother them at all. If anything, they will pick at him some.
As for the salt, it may cause him some problems if you are keeping the mollies at their optimum salinity.
A tablespoon per 5 gallons is about right for most fish, but mollies are usually kept at a teaspoon per gallon. I suppose you could go somewhere in between and both would be OK. Personally, I would lean toward less than halfway rather than more.
BTW sailcat, I know what a sail cat is...

it wont artwork. Bettas require temperatures of atleast seventy 8 F, while koi are chilly water fish. conserving bettas in coldwater boost the probability of ailment and could usually bring about a particularly inactive fish - theres additionally a raffle the koi will devour the betta whilst it gets larger. Mollies are agressive fish and don't have the potential to coexist with a betta.

Yes, you can but only one. He probably wont be very happy there, though. Bettas are originally from Siam (Siamese Fighting Fish)is another name for them. There, they live in very shallow warm puddles.
They like their water still and shallow. Thats why they are always in little containers. They also like their water aged and mellow, hard to do since you need to change the water once a week or once every other week. Go and get some Blackwater extract from your local fish store to add to the water to instantly age it and your betta will be pretty and happy.
You can put 2 bettas together, if they are female.

yes. it won't bother them.It will fight with other male bettas.if you have 1 male and 1 female. thats bad too. the male will try to mate so much it will kill the female. these fish are kinda hard to have if you have more than one. You can tell male from female by the fins the male is the long fin one you like. and females are more short fined almost sick looking.
