I have what looks like an old program from Picasso's Guernica show in California. The date says 1937. Inside a print of guernica is included. I've looked everywhere for info, just wondering if anyone would know anything about this.

Hi !
What a very interesting thing to have !
I would write a letter to the 'Director' of the Museum Of Modern Art in New York City because this is the museum in whose Permanent Collection the Gernica painting now is.
You can get the museum's address calling 411 information on the phone and the operator will give you both the museum's street address AND they can Also give you the museum's zip code - you just need to ask for it because they have that info to give to people if they ask.
The 'Museum of Modern Art' in N.Y.C. can be refered to as MOMA and it is appropriate to refer to it that way when writing and/or speaking about the museum (except to the telephone operator) - refering to the museum by it's full name can become a 'mouthful' in the course of a letter or conversation.
I would call MOMA and explain to the receptionist on the phone that you want to send a letter to the director and ask what his or her name is so you can know it when you write your letter.
You will get a much more in-depth response if you write a letter than if you call and try to speak in-depth about the situation directley to the director.
Of course you never know - MOMA may be interested that you have the program and a staff person may want to have a conversation right away.
I am in the arts (see my avatar blurb} and find letters work best - they are more considerate of people's time -
AND
it will really help you receive an answer back if you include a S.A.S.E. with your letter -
A S.A.S.E. is a self-addressed AND stamped envelope
AND
it is common practise in the arts for artists to include a S.A.S.E. when they inquire about things - it shows consideration to a busy staff AND your address will not get mislaid or lost.
I think in your case the inclusion of a SASE will really help expidite getting a reply from the museum. - your thoughtfulness will be appreciated
Hope this helped.
Sincerely,
Karma doll
