Floppies are History. Most Computers come with a CD Burner that do what the Floppy once did, only with more space. To play DVD's you most likely need a CD ROM that made for plating DVD's i.e. DVD/CD ROM and this can Burn both sometimes or only Burn CD's depends. Check them out at the Stores and they should have the necessary Software to make them work. You can go to Dell web-site to learn more what you need. It should be easy to add a DVD player. I will look for you and post a link to Dell if I find.
Well, I slow getting back, girlfriend called. This looks to be a old 486. It could possibly be upgraded to run DVD's but for what it may cost, it be better to buy another computer or portable DVD player, sorry.

The dimension 4600 may only have a CD player not a DVD player. According to Dell they came with either one or the other. They are easy to install- directions are usually included. You might as will buy a DVD drive with some recording ability-they don't cost much more.
Either 1. DVD dual layer dual format recorder or a 2. CD recorder that also playes DVD's/

Floppy Drives are no longer be sold with computers. You have to get them after the fact or use a flash drive. In order for your computer to play the DVD it must have a DVD Drive. It May only be a CD-Rom Drive.
