I mean, shouldn't they have been busy representing the people who elected them? The great majority of the Public did not think Congress should have been wasting time on Clinton's affair.

Weren't there more important issues for the GOP to focus on? I mean, there's health care, national security, social security, and a broad range of other important issues that they chose to neglect.

Exactly who does the GOP Represent? Have they ever done anything productive for this country?

The crimes the Clintons committed were associated with White Water. If you recall, before other people fell on their swords and took the rap, conveniently dying in prison a few months later, the entire Democratic organization was shouting "You can't try a sitting President." When the White Water affair wouldn't stick rather than picking up his marbles and going home the Independent Council found a whole slew of minor stupid things, none worthy of impeachment.

Clinton set himself up for impeachment by lying to congress.

Republicans saw this as one more opportunity to crush the Democratic party. Our two-party system is the most vile, evil, corrupt, greedy, arrogant system in the world. Nothing matters except winning....at any cost. Both parties have abandoned the American people and have sold out to lobbyists, wealthy elitists, special interest groups, and big business.
Yes, there were more important issues to address, but the GOP chose to spend millions of taxpayer dollars on a sham "investigation" all because Clinton lied to Congress about an illicit sexual encounter with a White House intern (as if every other member of Congress hasn't lied or been lied to; as if every other member of Congress and U.S. President hasn't had a dalliance or indiscretion). -RKO-

Well you have to look at the true intentions behind the "witch Hunt". The GOP hates to see someone do as much good for the poor as Clinton did. Clinton was by far the greatest President Since Kennedy and the GOP knew that. When Clinton was President Gas was at about 89 cents a gallon. Now its over 5 bucks in some places. The proof is in black and white.

The sleaze factor in the GOP tried to make a big deal out of Clinton's misbehaving and lying about is (yes, I said is).

Then there was the "Whitewater" affair where they tried to ensnare his wife too.

It must have worked, because now thousands of good Americans are dead fighting for an ideal that the neo-cons don't even believe in.

They're over there fighting and dying for our freedom and the greedy rich are just laughing their fat asses off.

Clinton lied about a little inappropriate sex, as he is a married man.

I would have done the same thing............But that was a matter that was between he and his wife. Not 1 American citizen was hurt by the affair. It wasnt any one elses business. After what this country put his family through he has paid his dues.

Bush lied thousands have now died! Where is the accountability on this one?

But heaven forbid a Red Blooded American man gets a ******** and does what most Red Blooded American men do....he lied about it.

Is it just me or is there something wrong with this picture?

They wanted to set up a negative attitude toward the Democratic Party for the next election. They knew that Al Gore (the presumptive candidate) would want to distance himself from Clinton during the campaign, which he did, the coward.

Maybe they didn't want the blame for setting Monica up with the President and Clinton played along with the game knowing that the outcome wouldn't be removal from office?

If you were a true conservative the you would know what all the GOP had done for this country over the years. Bill Clinton lied under oath and committed the crime of perjury.

Balanced budgets, money in the bank, people working, people getting off welfare, CHEAP GAS, food to go around, MORE AND CHEAP HEALTH CARE and the list can go on. All this even tho the republican controlled houses tried hard to stop him. They were able to block his ttempts to apprehend some of the bad guys THEY STILL don't have. Even after Bush is out of office, the Bush lies will continue to kill our troops for years to come. It seems as tho Clinton's lies helped him get the job done and no one died. Additionally, Nixon resigned not to further humiliate this country but to save himself from criminal carges and impeachment of which he would certainly been convicted. Why else would Ford have pardoned him BEFORE charges were brought. Please go back and study that part of our history yourself.
