lionbrand.com is a great place to start! they have all sorts of projects that would take 1 skein or less.

if you want something fun to do with all those yarn leftovers you don't have enough to do anything with but just can't seem to get rid of, do a search for amigurumi. amigurumi are little stuffed knitted or croched dolls that are so cute!

Go to your local department store and
see which free patterns they have and
then you'll be able to find the one that
uses a one skien crochet pattern. They
will have a wide assortment. Enjoy
your project.

try the yarn sections of hobby lobby, Michael's, or Wal-mart. Most brands of yarn will have a pattern on it.

try lionbrand.com, I think that is right. But it might be lionbrandyarn.com
If you have a brand name yarn, most of them have web sites and offer free patterns! Lion brand has the most freebies I have found.
You can also check michaels.com or joanns.com they have free patterns too.
