University of California one of the Biggest and Oldest Educational Institution in USA - Berkelay was established in 1849 and was called UC (University of California). University of Colorado is also very old but formed in 1876 and this was also earlier called as UC, but due to confusions arose because of same abbreviation of names, it was decided to change as CU (Colorado University)
