That one episode they found that when Ray was a baby and Marie would feed Ray, and ignore Robert, she would touch Rays chin with the spoon and Robert, wanting attention from Marie would do they same, touch his chin. So it was his way of feeling loved by his mom

as a child, marie would try 2 feed robert, by pretending the spoon was an airplane,& he had 2 open his mouth 2 let the airplane n the hanger. and it just stuck with him out of an inferiority complex bcause of ray

on the show he never explain it fully in thew episode. But he did reference that Ray got more attention than he did.
