Pella sent "factory trained" guy, work was done in a hurry and it took 2 trips to get the right replacement!!looks like crap and now caulking is molding from moisture??air leaks around inside where they didnt replace insulation around frame, like I said "factory trained"and must be paid by how many jobs a day he does???his work is evident of his training! wont be buying any Pellas again,----- take warning!! window was installed in new home now 4 yrs later it is crap!

Ther is no question here and one answer Pella is by far the best window available for new and remodel construction make sure you get the salesman out there so that they will be responsible for the sizes and the type of outside finish they have a powder coat finish that has an incredible warranty I have used only Pella for 15 years never ever a problem.

Never heard of Jied-Wen so I'd have to go with Pella.

I would go with Eagle Windows.

http://www.eaglewindow.com/windows.cfm

They are around the same price and con be clad in 50 different colors of Aluminum and I have had much fewer quality control issues instlling them professionally.

Both Pella and Jeld- Wen have several different lines. I think the low end are junk,(LISTEN TO RICHARD C ON THIS ONE!) I think the mid level Pellas are better, and I think the high end Jeld Wens are better.

But, I am going to put Eagles in my house.

pella is a fine window if its architect series . the " proline is really a window made by a canadian wdw mfr and priv labeled for pella . jeld -wen is a really old co from the nw us and is now a big conglom with many brands , such as pozzi , norco and wenco , their original wdw co . is one better ? it really depends on what options you want and whether you can get those from a mid line co at a better price . service , if needed , is the key . and pella , andersen and marvin are your best bet

Jeld Wen, you meant Jeld Wen, I know.

I bought some Pellas for our other home and I'm very happy with them...just like other windows, there's different levels of quality within each brand--so basically "you get what you pay for".
