It depends where you live.... I live in LA and most of our schools require uniforms because of the gangs. Like you cant wear red(bloods), royal blue(crips), orange (74 hoovers), purple (grapes) and god knows I could keep going and going. I go 2 college now but my lil sis is in middle school so she needs 2 wear uniform. I've always worn those colors and about 10 diffrent gang members come up to me and ask me where I'm from I just say I dont bang, but sometimes they pick fights 4 wearing their colors and I just throw down, I mean I'm not gonna let them punk me....AND I STILL WEAR THOSE COLORS!! lol that was when I was around 13, but thats how it is around here... Its not easy being 4rm da south around here...=)
srry I took ue time on my little speech...

Personally I think a dress code is okay to make sure that kids aren't dressing too provocatively or wearing offensive clothing. If you want to wear a tshirt that has an obscene word on it, fine, do it on your own time or put another shirt over it so I don't have to stare at it in English Lit.

I think there should be a dress code. I am for uniforms. When uniforms are worn the fashion question wait until lunch time and after school, where those subjects belong. I think when uniforms are worn the students are more attentive to the class and not to individuals.

yes there should be a dress codes in schools. with the way girls pants are slung so low on there hips, there belly buttons showing and the slinky little tank tops and then the boys pants are so lose you wonder how they stay up. they have to hold them with a finger thru the belt loops. you see the boxers in the back. and have you ever seen these boys run? they look like a penquin waddling . so again yes i am for a dress code.

As much as I disliked it when I was at school yes I completely agree with having dress codes.
With having uniforms, no one can singularly be picked on purely because of what they are wearing.

dress codes are in place for a reason because dumb *** kids like to beat other kids up for their clothes or little girls dress like trash. the point is to get kids minds more on learning less on fashion.as long as you still have the right to accesorize with a uniform im all for it

There should be to some degree. No low tops or rips on girls to see underwear or anything. But like when they don't allow long necklaces or any rips or anything, I think they should lighten up. Also, on the 3 fingers rule.
