Unfortunately without actually being there, you might never know what happened. If you really really want to know, maybe you can get on the list to see the guys who got locked up, and kind of interview them. Ad for the third guy, you didn't mention what happened with him, maybe you could track him down and talk to him too. It is possible that these three were on drugs or just in an evil mood. If they were on drugs or drunk it is more likely that they regret what they have done, if not well I'm not sure I would want to talk to them.
