UCLA won seven consecutive national championships, and under the leadership of John Wooden, won 10 titles in 12 years.

They won an 11th title in 1995, beating defending champion Arkansas in the finals.

UCLA has the greatest legacy... UNC gets to a lot of final fours, but that's not the object of college basketball, in spite of what ESPN might try to tell you... the object is to win it all.

They've both sent a lot of great players to the NBA... but Lew Alcindor (n/k/a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) and Bill Walton are the two best college players of all time, in addition to being NBA Hall of Famers.

Dean Smith just might be the 2nd best college coach over, but no one approaches John Wooden in that area.

UCLA accomplished their achievements mostly during the time when there was no ESPN... ESPN hypes Carolina (and Duke) much more than any other basketball programs, but UCLA's accomplishments will never be matched.

There is no comparison whatever. UCLA has won eleven NCAA's. Eight or nine in a row. Coach Wooden is the greatest coach, in any sport, ever to have lived. Am I UCLA partisan, no I am not. I am a USC Trojan all the way, they come on at 5:45 for a game at Arkansas. I shall absent myself from Answers for now.
