I'd say 100% cotton, comfort and style. Plus, odor preventing is kinda useless.

Wow! I read your question and shamefully I must confess that I have never put that much thought into the sock! I mostly;y just pick out a soft set of ankle socks making sure they are white, or match whatever pants I am wearing. They go on my feet and are rarely seen so I don't sweat it!

White Socks
Below the Ankle
Cotton for Winter
Nylon for Running (Helps feet breathe)

hmmmmm i've never given much thought to socks. I usually buy wacky patterned ones to reflect my personality.
