Like why do they ask perfect strangers about things that are going on in there lives? 'Does he like me?' 'Does she like me?' 'Is he mad at me?' as if we could all magically step into the other persons mind, read it, and tell them the answer. I'm not gonna lie, I've done it once or twice, but it's still dumb.

No, I do not think it is dumb.
Actually with regard to the examples you mention ("Does he like me?" Is he mad at me?") there are many people out there who aren't able to tell such things by themselves. In fact, it has happened to all of us at least once...
Also, there is plenty of common knowledge that can be applied to simple cases.
How useful is the answer you get to a personal question depends a lot on how you frame the question. Obviously, you need to give as much information as relevant.
Also remember that people in Yahoo Answers are not the same age and some will have more life experience than others.
I myself answer a lot to questions that seem to be asked by teenagers, and I give them the answers that I have learnt in my life. It is mostly easy questions, but I cannot blame them for asking them as I remember myself wondering the same.
Life involves constant learning.

The entire IDEA OF YAHOO ANSWERS is that we all step in and tell them the answer.
Alot of these kids dont have a mom or dad to go to, they are embarrased to ask an adult friend or a teacher, so they ask here. I dont have anywhere else to answer many of my problems, and sometimes I just want peoples opinion on things.
Nobody said you HAD to get on Yahoo Answers, you know. But its a really great place to get your questions answered, and thats ALL kinds of questions.
Do note that there are other sections that dont have personal questions like the Adolescent section does. Also, be glad there isnt a section about sex, lol.

It's not a big deal. Just getting some answers from people around the world that may have had a simular experience. you know, won't hurt to ask. Lighten up, Im sure you have got a lot of help or you would not be here now asking the question you just asked. Life is a big question. When we were kids we were not allowed to ask questions, so that is probably why some of us are so anxious about this Answer Question site. God Bless you.

There's something appealing and safe about asking complete strangers personal questions while remaining anonymous. Although I like to think I've made a few connections this way. I've discovered I really like feathers! And I love a man who feels a connection with and can wax poetically about nature.

Some people really just don't care and need to talk to someone I guess, or have nothing to do so they ask retarded questions. Some of my questions are retarded, not like personal. But most of my questions are regular questions I suppose. Like.. how do i catch a chipmunk... I keep getting sick when I eat.... etc.
BTW: Chipmunks are soo cute but I shot one today with my pellet gun.

So you can get see other peoples point of view and some people don't want to ask anyone they know and on here you don't know them (so it's not as embarrassing or whatever)

you can any stupid ? and you know someone will answer
as well when you read other people ? and answer it is kind of
give an inside to your own mental
