No. The age of consent is determined by the age considered healthy and appropriate for people to be making this kind of decision. If you seriously think that a 13 year old has the life experience, mental, moral and emotional maturity to legally consent to sex, then there's something wrong with you. These laws are made to protect children. And yes, 13 year olds are children. They should be encouraged to wait, not encouraged to go for it!!

"Honest" age of consent? I hope you're not looking for justification.
IMHO, below 16 or 17 years old, a person typically does not understand the full ramifications and consequences of sex, and are too young to be sexualizing themselves.
Thirteen isn't even a freshman in high school! At 13 you're not allowed (not considered mature enough) to drive a car, own property, or smoke and drink. You can barely watch PG-13 movies! The mental, physical, and hormonal maturity isn't there to make the kind of choices that sexual activity requires.

consent to sex. To what? Consent to what? If you mean sex it seems to me that it is that way when it comes to young girls but you let a man take a young girl and he is in trouble. The law even has trouble with this as you have seen with these pretty teachers having sex with their students. They should get more time just like a man would.13 year old girls and boys are not able to make adult decisions. they have a lot of learning to do! So no way does anyone agree with this. Not sorry I said it either.

Ick... It all depends on the person. People mature at different ages. A good legal consent age is 18, I think.

Are you kidding me? Many girls just start puberty at 13. They are just adjusting to the body changes and maybe sexual desires. How can they possibly have a good judgement about it? Look at all the young girls 18 and under getting pregnant.

Why? Are you some sort of freakish pedaphile? I hope not....13 to me is too young. Girls at that age should be playing with dollies makeup and getting their first kisses NOT having sexual relations with older men.

No. Those kids need protecting from people like you. While maybe they should have the right to decide on their own, you shouldn't. Unfortunately the one interferes with the other. Better to be safe than sorry.

You have GOT to be kidding. At that age, there isn't any kind of mature judgment regarding sex. It's difficult enough when you're 18! Get a grip!

I assume that you are talking about sexual consent.....why would you say that? Do you enjoy sleeping with children? Wait a minute...is your real name Michael Jackson?
