oh its just one of my attention-seeking dramas. im tired of wade and bron getting all the love. i should be the one hoggin' the spotlight. so thank you for mentioning it. many people have been paying attention to me and its just as i planned. im also trying desperately to be like mike(remember mike's change from #45 back to #23?)... anyway i wanted the 24 because it would be one up to #23, and i strongly believe i am better than mike...

There are many assumptions as to why Kobe's going to change his number:

1. It was his number in high school so he would like to go back to it.
2. It's about the money. - A new jersey could improve sales.
3. Michael Jordan wore #23. The Jordan shoe line is almost coming out with it's 22nd edition, the XXIIs. Afterwards only one more edition will be made ending the line with the XXIIIs. From then on Kobe #24 Bryant will take over the line with the XXIVs.

Remember these are just assumptions so it might not be these reasons at all.

He changed his number to number 24 because that was the number on his jersey when he was playing basketball at his High School team. If I was was Kobe Bryant I wont change my number because he got famos with that number 8 and he got his career pionts with that number 8 while he scored 81 pts with that number. So Kobe dont change your number to 24 change it back to number 8.Your number is number 8 and Jimmy Jackson number is 24

He actually said it was because he wanted to multiply the number of titles he has with the number he wore the first 10 years of his career: 8 x 3 = 24

He also wore it in High School. it's a new beginning, after wearing #8 for a decade, he wants a rebirth.

He did.. Ohhh man!!

That's a wrong move Kobe!! You built your name wearing the #8 and now change it..

Nobody has ever suceed in doing that..

Take it from MJ.. He change his # to 45 and after a year change it again to 23..

Trust me.. Kobe is goin to go back to #8! That's what made him who he is now..

No wonder the NBA store is putting all KB jersey's on sale.. CHEAP PRICE!

because he wants to show his dedication through the number 24. He probably chose the number 24 because he wanted to make a point that he works 24 hours a day (figuratively) to achieve his goal.
