What do black people want to be called? Then go by that. If they are originally from Africa but are America I guess you can call them African American. But thats dumb because they most likely would not identify with Africa and the culture. I mean, I am of German, British and Belgian descent. But I don't identify with those cultures. So why should I go around calling myself German American? Or European American? And my family has been here for 4 generations. Now, I am sure that some black people would complain that there ancestors were not brought here willingly. What I say to that is....If you had the choice, would you really want to live in Africa? I am glad to live in America, the land of the free. So I would not want to live in Germany, Great Britian or Belgium. I would viist, though. So, how about *****? Black?

Actually the Black people of Southern India are technically Caucasians, so white does not equal Caucasian. I was particularly amused when a Black Indian working in New Orleans, Louisiana, was declared officially White.

Many interracial people are not fond of the word mulatto. So, I would not recommend using that. Black people: black, because some families are from the Carribean or S.America, so on a technicality, they would not be African-American. All in all, I'd rather just be called by my name, miss, or human. :)

In my religion, we believe that all human beings are one race, so I guess we're just all people :) I mean, why does a title matter? Shouldn't you get to know a person and then call them by their name?

It depends, do you know their name? I usually like to call all people by their name.

And that is mulatto, and also a pretty ignorant term given the times.
