My dad was the best tennis player at his high school when he was that age. Now, I want to try out for my high school's tennis team. I would go to my dad for help, but he's at work a lot of the time, I'm free. If you could give me a link to a website that explains the rules, and the game of tennis, or if you could explain it, that would be great.
And in case you're wondering, "If this girl doesn't know how to play tennis, why is she trying out?" Well, I've played many tennis games before, and am very good, but have lost the memory of how to play.

Thanks!

there are several websites that feature tennis, but the best thing you could do is find a TV that has ESPN and watch some tennis being played

nothing like seeing it happen and hearing the scores called and all of that

basically, tennis goes like you would expect, the server stands behind the back line and to the right of the center line, and serves into the small box on the left on the other side of the net

the receiver lets it bounce then hits it back, now each player can let it bounce or not as they choose

if the other guy hits it and it lands in my area (outside box not counting the "doubles" lanes on the side unless there are 4 of us playing) and I don't hit it back into his side, he gets the point

if he doesn't return a "good" hit, then I get the point

the server then moves to the left side and serves to the other box and another point is played, then the server moves to the right (behind the base line) and serves again

this continues until the game is over

the first point a player gets is called "fifteen or five" why? I don't know

the next point is called "thirty", and the next "forty" and after "forty" comes "game" and that game is over

you have to win by two so if the score is "forty" to "forty" its called "deuce" and when one person gets ahead by one it is their "add" or "advantage" and when somebody gets ahead by two it is "game"

usually first person to 6 wins the set
usually 3 sets to a match

find some tennis on TV and watch it close

fun game
go for it
