Looks matter. It's the first thing noticed when someone is presenting you with a first impression of who they are. Once you get to know them, you look further. If you are lucky, their beauty can be found on the outside, as well as the inside.
I think we find what we are looking for when we hover around the middle of the road kind of hottie.
I tend to think of a a pretty face and rockin body as "bait", the personality is the hook.

It is true that appearance counts. You don't stare at magazines of ugly people... usually... you don't hire people that dress and smell like they're homeless, and you don't walk up to the ugliest person in the bar in the hopes that they've got a good personality...
BUT... lets face it, the really hot folks can afford to be as stuck up as they want, and if you're not the sexiest person in the club it's pretty unpleasant trying to hook up with someone who is.
Most of us have average looks... and by simple arithmetic, half of us have less than average looks. So assuming you're one of the great majority of people who looks about average or less, who do you try and get with?
Do you ask out the smoking hot babe that's staring at everyone like they're rodents, and get your balls handed to you, or do you ask her only mildly cute girlfriend that's all smiles and keeps looking your way?
Even if I could get with a world class supermodel, I wouldn't ever call her again if she turned out to be a world class ****. On the other hand, I'd be just fine with even a kind of dumpy looking girl if she treated me like gold. There's something to be said for a lady that'll bring me a beer and rub my back after all... and the supermodel can't keep looking superhot for her whole life.
Acknowledging the reality of looks is a good first step, but once you know what's on the inside, you'll be a lot happier if you take into accout the reality of personality.

I agree with you I think?
It's what's on the outside that counts to get you ahead in life but it's what's on the inside to keep you there or get you further.
Do you see many ugly people at nice restaurants or hotels? Not generally. I've been hired on the spot for many jobs because I take care of my appearance and I am a genuinely nice person. So many people treat their bodies like a dumpster. They don't bother to take care of themselves. At least control your hygene. It's not like they have to be as thin as Paris Hilton or dress like Jessica Simpson. Just take care of yourelves.

I think that just because it's true everyone is great on the inside, you shouldn't let your appearance go down hill. Be well groomed, because hygeine is still important. But you shouldn't wear too much make up or dress inappropriately. No one should change themselves for anyone else. Just have confidence no matter what. True friends will like you for who you are, if they don't they aren't true friends for you.

I think people say that so that they don't sound so shallow or vain. Let's face it, we all are physically attracted to looks before anyone utters a word or you have a chance to see what their personality is like. How many of us actually say hi or acknowledge homeless people? It's because they are dirty and don't take care of themselves.

I can take just about anything in the looks dept as long as there's a personality and brains etc. but if you have poor hygeine, no matter HOW hot you look, FUGGEDABOTIT!
That's teeth, hair, pits, clothing...up and down all around fingernails, shoes, toes....
get the picture!?:

thousands of human beings convert to atheism as well. human beings change their beliefs each and every of the time, maximum persons have secure beliefs yet there's a continuing pass into and out of each and every faith. ultimately, meaning no longer some thing. the idea that 33% of human beings are Christian and actually 16% are atheists actually begs the question -- if being 0.5 represented as Christianity implicates our being incorrect, then Christity being actually 0.5 the quantity of the human beings who do not trust (sixty seven% are non-christian, 33% are christian) makes an same implication for Christianity. i extremely haven't any reason to be mad at God. in the starting up, my time as a believer replaced into pleasing and empowering -- it replaced right into a good area of 'comprehend' the love of Christ. a number of my happiest moments, nonetheless no longer all, are on the problem of activities and retreats that had to do with my Christian adventure. I basically no longer trust god exists because of the failings i locate in the Bible. the fellow defined via the recent testomony violates one of those great number of of the messianic prophecies and twists one of those great number of previous testomony passages that that is complicated to settle for Jesus's divinity. And after we see that this supposedly All-Loving and all-powerful deity replaced into able to genocide, homicide, the slaughter of chance free toddlers, the killing of kids because they picked on a bald guy... those are not any more issues an All Loving and All basically deity ought to do or ought to do. so as i replaced into reading for the priesthood and growing more effective and bigger aquainted and information of my Bible, i replaced into sowing the seeds of my own atheism, because i replaced into determining further and extra that the Bible basically ought to no longer be reconciled with itself or with morality. many human beings anticipate that human beings turn faraway from God or turn their backs on God... yet this isn't truly precise. to say we turn our backs is to intend he continues to be there, basically now in the back of us truly of before us. that is more effective that we are status there, dealing with God, and God basically vanishes from our sight.
