Why do people find it in themselves to be rude to others?

I hear others putting down people they don't know, it sucks.

Right on sister! I am so sick of people at the grocery store or whatever who are rude and don't even know you.

Because deep down inside they're not happy with themselves so they project it onto other people. The people they're putting down probably have something they wish they had and it makes them jealous. They react to that by making fun of them and putting them down.

I'd like to say that it's classic high school drama but based on what I've seen with my own friends and people I work with it's also adult drama. It's sad but those people are everywhere. Just ignore them and be the bigger and better person.

People like to belittle others because they see thier own character defects in other people. Those who put other people down suffer from low self esteem and try to build themselves up by making others seem inferior. It takes a strong person to give others thier due credit if it does not help thier own situation. These people you speak of are weak in character.

That's just a small sampling of the many bad things that people do to each other, none of the rest of the many bad things make much sense either and it all stinks.

The key is to never reward bad behavior, never condone it, and never participate in bad behavior. If enough people just did that, eventually bad behavior such as what you describe would be deemed unacceptable and those who so freely engaged in the bad behavior would stop.
