I have a best friend that I really, really like and have for about 5-6 years. But I'm not sure he wants to be any more than friends, even though he's made excuses to come talk to me and is hanging around me more often, and I'm afraid that if I confront him, he'll kinda drift away. What should I do? I have more opportunities to hang around him this year, but I'm kinda playing it low, letting it be whatever he wants it to be. I know there are bigger problems I should be worrying about, but this is really important to me. I'm not blowing it out of proportion like I've done in the past, I'm just concerned that either I'll never know if it could have worked between us or we'll try and fail and our friendship will be over. He means so much to me and I don't want to lose him.

I am fimiliar with your problem. I have a friend that i am really close to, too and at one point i thought i had feelings for him. My advice to you, is to talk to your friend about how you feel. If you are best friends then he'll be understanding, if he doesn't feel the same way as you do. If your afraid that confronting him will ruin your friendship then maybe you aren't really that good of friends. I told my friend how i felt and even though he didn't feel the same way, we were able to work past it and i realized that I am better off having him as friend because we are always there for each other. What we have is hard to find in most relationships, and i know that no matter what we'll always have each other. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is tell your friend, because you never know what might happen if you don't. If it doesn't work out in your favor then at least you wont go on wondering what if. Good luck. I'm sure you wont lose him.
