Being a former manager of a dry cleaners/laundry, my advice is do not use hairspray. It might work for a dot of ink, but anything larger than a dot and you will just spread the ink around. Take the jeans to a reputable cleaners (or call first) to see if they do spot cleaning and have ink removers. Where I worked, we used ink removers on spots before cleaning that absolutely worked. I have personally tried hairspray in the past and it just spread, but did, lighten the stain. Also, using hairspray or other home remedies may in fact set in the stain more. I would take it to a cleaners. We had much better luck with ink removers when nothing had been put on them previously. Good luck and please try a cleaner before ruining your jeans with hairspray. Also, we charged about $3.50 for cleaning and pressing jeans (spot cleaning included).

hairspray works because of the alcohol in it. Use rubbing alcohol and blot with a white cloth so as not to transfer dye onto your jeans. No you should not have washed them first nor dried them.
There is a product call Soilove that works well on ink stains.

Stone washed jeans????
Don't worry about the stain. I don't think that kind of jean is stylish anymore.
I wore them in high school - IN THE 80's!
Run down to American Eagle and get something else.

Ok, you have stone washed black jeans and you can see the ink on them? What colour was it, white or yellow? Shouldn't it be invisible on black if it was blue ink? If I misunderstood the question and you really need a remover, then try cheap hairspray, let it dry on the jeans, then wash. You might have to repeat the process.

Do not use hair spray. If it doesn't work the way you expect you'll end up with an extra layer of stuff on your jeans.
Use alcohol or acetone or paint thinner. Or better yet, take it to cleaners and ask what can they do.

Lestoil, put it directly on the ink and work it in. I printed magazines for 18 years. I had a lot of ink to get out.

Spray stain with hairspray and then blot the area with a clean cloth. Repeat as neccessary. Once the stain is out, wash to remove hairspray residue.
