Name calling displays an limited vocabulary and is basically a sign low intelligence.
Your question is a very good one because the practice of Social Grouping, or including one into a group that is less than complimentary, has been around a LONG time. There are some that need to be identified as 'part of a group', such as gangs....or Presbyterians, etc.... It very much is a comment on the insecurities and "need" to belong to something of those participating.
I was born in 1953, and what was (and sometimes still is) confusing at times, is when the label changes. I believe the "N" word is slang taken from *****, which is what I was taught to use. ie: He was a ***** gentleman. But this term (N) has morphed into an attack on ones character, as white trash does. Then I was supposed to use 'colored', then it became black. You must still watch your step when doing what is supposed to be 'politically correct'. The NAACP fights for colored people, the United ***** College Fund is self explanatory. However, this doesn't seem to apply to daily practice. I try to keep up with the proper trend, but I really prefer to be my own man, and not affiliated with any groups. If you use the wrong word at the wrong time, there are some that will take offense, even though I'm making donations to help with further education, and I am using the words that it appears the benefit is for, and approved for use.

Toilets with flowers in them in the front yard, disabled old junk cars,is a matter of taste. Be sure, people WILL ALWAYS comment on your taste, art, songs, dress, hairstyle etc.....

Be clean, be strong, believe in God and pray we all can get along... Do unto others.... is probably the best measure you can use.

Well, usually you live in a trailer or gov. housing. You wear wrinkly clothes that smell and have stains on them. You don't take care of your hair or if you do it is teased out as far as you can get it for a girl and in a mullet style if you are a guy. This is for the guy that said something about the red light, thats only if you are a prostitute, not white trash.

white trash lives in million dollar homes too, look at britney spears,, jessica simpson, just to name a few. I think white trash is your attitude. I've known some really smart pretty people wholived in trailers, they just didnt want the kind of mortgage I have. Then I have friends who live in half million dollar homes who are white trash.
