Very likely it is possible that a basking shark was Spotted they have been visitors to the southcoast seasonaly,other varieties are found all over the coast of Britain, regards LF

Very little I've live here 20 years and swam in the sea! off the coast of Essex and have yet to see even a fin lol. No the water from the north is too cold for sharks. Your safe from them but watch out for the land base ones lol.

I heard an interview on the radio last week with a marine expert of some kind.
Apparently basking sharks are quite common in the waters off the British Isles, along with other things you wouldn't expect to find here like seahorses.

Dogfish are sharks, and are common throughout the UK coastline
other sharks are often found in UK waters
you wont fiond things like the Tiger Sharks, Hammerheads, Reef Sharks and the like.... the water is too cold

very likely due to globel warming sharks are able to survive around there since the water is warmer and they prey will be moving there also which contributes to likeliness of attracting sharks there.

Extremely unlikely. The closest thing you'll get to sharks might be dogfish, but still, they'd be no-where near where you swim and they're not dangerous
