Try to top everything she tells you with a story of your own, even if you have to make it up. After awhile, she will become frustrated by this type of behavior on your part and hopefully will stop it. I don't suggest this in a serious, personal friendship, only if it is more of a casual friendship - as you've confirmed - being conducted either by mail or over the internet. Afterall, it doesn't sound as if you've got that much to lose here as long as you don't consider her to be a really close friend.

My friends tell me things sometimes that I would rather not know sometimes, but that is exactly what a friend is: someone who listens. I definitely could go without knowing some things, but I know that you gotta treat people like you want to be treated.
