On one hand,
(2 / 3) ln 2
= ln 2^(2 / 3)
= ln ³√4

= approx. ln 1.58740105
= approx. 0.46209812

On the other hand,
(ln 8) / 6
= (ln 2³) / 6
= 3 (ln 2) / 6
= (ln 2) / 2

= approx. 0.69314718 / 2
= approx. 0.34657359

Sorry, not quite the same.

No, here's why:

(ln 8) / 6 = ln (2 ^ 3) / 6

Remember the rule that ln (a ^ b) = b ln (a)

= [3 ln (2) ] / 6
= ln (2) / 2

So x = 1/2 * ln (2), which clearly does not equal (2/3) * ln (2)

x = (ln 8) / 6

= ln (2^3) / 6
=(3) * ln (2) / 6
=(3/6) * ln 2
=(1/2) * ln 2
