Halloween is my favorite holiday and last year we did a haunted garage. We made a coffin (super easy to build) and had my father jump out at children. We also bought a CD with the theme songs to horror flicks. I also found that strobe lights really work well...since it distorts your perception.

I'm afraid of the dark and spider webs... My kids are afraid of strange noises... Maybe you could black out the walls in your garage and make a small haunted house for people to walk through... you could drip warm water on them and jump out from a hiding space making them wet themselves... Good Luck...

a small "touch obstacle course" bowl of cold spaghetti, bowl of pealed grapes, jello brain, cookies shaped like fingers with sliced almonds as finger nails, rubber fishing worms in a little warm water. Then you could hang things from the ceiling that drape down and drag over their faces. put things on the floor that make them feel unbalanced like foam with dips cut out and bubble wrap that has big bubbles that will pop and do all this in the dark. Have people knelt down grabbing legs and arms hiding behind decorations like curtains and cardboard shapes like haunted housed. spiders on strings that are controled by someone dropping onto their heads. there are so manu things that you can do.

One thing that really scares is have someone real sit around like a dummy then when someone walks by they can move just a little. I use to have people run out of the house screaming with that one.
Blood covered sheets, spider webs, CD full of sounds like screams and chains and squeaky doors.
