Below is a clip on how much the Biloxi Bay bridge cost in New Orlens to repair.

And...

The fed is giving over $73,000.00 per each victim. 5 people to each house is $365,000 per family or per home. Then the Ins Co.'s paied I bet half that per person so we are near $500,000.00 per family.

I think I could build a house for 125K and live for about 3 years without a job on 100k more. The rest could go to fix the town back up. So this could mean that 50 to 100 billion dollars would be spent on the city. ??????

Where did it all go?

Total cost: $338.6 million, courtesy of the American taxpayer. The new bridge is just part of the flood of federal money destined for the region - some $110 billion, equal to $73,333 for each person affected by Katrina's hurricane winds.

I guess this is more of a rant then a question but I really do wonder where is the money and to my thinking everyone in that town should be rich.

I cannot agree with you more!! With the amount of money collected from people across the US, together with fund raisers by the "stars," and further aid from the feds, They could have built every resident of New Orleans a new home and refurbish each of the neighborhoods as well. There has never, to my knowledge, been any accounting of the money collected and where it went!! In the long run, it makes people cynical of donating to disaster victims for fear they will never even see the money OR benefit from it!! GREAT question!!

Chow!!

Start by asking Mayor Negan. On tv, it said some moneys
went to prisoners, some to people who lied about having their
homes destroyed, some to people who lied about having rental
houses in the area destroyed when they owned none and crazy
things like this. The heros are the volunteers and Christians who
took their vacation time from the north and went down with tons
of clothes and supplies for these poor people, and others who
went down and built houses, and the 700 Club's "operation
blessing" who took tons of water, food, clothing, and supplies
down there and gave away to the needy. None of these people
received a dime for their time, labor, and love. Let"s applaud
those people who worked tirelessly and got little thanks>

I heard the govenor of Louisiana on the radio the other day (last week) saying that there was progress being made and touting the fact that 12 families had recieved money to rebuild their houses. I mean come on, it's been over a year and it's something to brag on that 12 people have gotten money????

i heard they gave a billion out in credit cards and i think they said they had no way to track what people spent the money on which makes me sick also i always see on CNN aka "constantly negitive news" that there is 300million spent on trailers that just sit out in other states such as kentucky seems they do alot wonderful things but some not so much ..

Halliburton got a LOT of post-Katrina money, awarded through no-competition contracts at highly inflated prices, mostly for infrastructure cleanup and rebuild.

Some of the money went to buy lap tops and cell phones for FEMA workers and contracters.
