I added water-based ink into the sponge interior of my rollerball pen, but no matter how much I added, i can't write with it. What's wrong??

You are using water based ink as there is a sponge interior. But you need to use "original" ink form same manufacturer. Or the "base" will be different. Other reason mi hgt be the ink left in the tube bottom has dried out.
Most importantly, the ball is designed to have limited life cycle. It has worn out after some writing. You are not supposed to re-fill most roller ball pens.

Hi. Water based ink would not show up except very lightly. You need to clean the roller very well to get the water to "stick".
