you have t o know the equation which is m = (y2 - y1 ) / ( x2-x1 )
you have to know the tow points
for the first x = 1 so y = 1 ^2 = 1 which makes it ( 1 , 1) (x1,y1)
the second x = 3 so y = 3^2 = 9 which makes it ( 3, 9) (x2,y2)
now from the equation
m = (y2 - y1 ) / ( x2-x1 )
m = ( 9-1 ) / ( 3-1 )
m = 8 / 2
m = 4 #
hope it helps if you have any Q plz post :)

to locate the equation of the line passing interior the process the beginning = (0,0) and (5/6,a million/3) First be certain the slope (m) of the line: m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1); the place y2 = a million/3; y1 = 0; x2 = 5/6; x1 = 0 m = a million/3 - 0 / 5/6 - 0 m = (a million/3) / (5/6) m = a million/3 x 6/5 = 6/15 = 2/5 Then be certain the equation of the line utilising the formula: y - y1 = m(x - x1) y - 0 = 2/5(x - 0) y = 2/5x (answer = C)

well when x =1, y = 1, so your first point it (1, 1). when x = 3, y = 9 so the next point is (3, 9). the slope is the rise over run. so you went up 8 and over 2 so thats 8/2 which is 4. Yes that is correct.

Yes
The coordinates of the points are (1,1) and (3,9) by applying the equation to x.
If you take the slope of those two points, you get 4
