The media offers a stereotypical view of footballers wives, we only see the extravagance but then thats only a small part of their life. I mean if you had money you might go on holidays and wear nice things but then the media wouldnt care about you because youre not in the fame spotlight. But what about all the other footballers wives who dont make the media. Personally I dont read trashy tabloids and I dont have stereotypes theyre a waste of time you should make up your own mind for yourself and not let anyone else colour your views or opinions.

I think the stereotype is more true of people who aspire to be footballers wives, the wannabes. Some of the actual wives must have traits like this, this is where the wannabes get their inspiration.
The short answer to this question is 'just look at them'.

Because they all have similar traits when you look at the papers etc...but honestly I am not interested in footballers' wives.

That image sells in the media - but reality would tell you a very different and rather dull story. They are like anyone else with husbands and familys, they are usually very involved in their communities and their childrens schools. They are very warm caring people. That just dosen't sell when it comes to television!

well.... I've just been watching the UK national IQ test on TV with one group consisting of footballers wives.

Footballers wives group came last and in one of the interviews, one thought that after seeing his statue, she thought that Winston Churchill was a black american president!

people have opinions that are formed by the media. The media by its nature has to make sweeping generalisations in order to appeal to the mass market, and therefore individuals often reflect the opinions of the media
