Just pick a side and dive.
It is blind luck. The tricky bit is taking penalties, not saving them. The keeper has little chance, and must simply trust to luck.
You could do a silly little dance on the touchline to put the other fella off. That worked for Bruce Grobbelaar and Jerzy Dudek.

Aww! Well now… this is a trick that my grandpa once told me… he said to me: junior… I’m gonna teach you to save those "glitch headed" pks… and soon after it he said to me: Sonny don’t you tell this trick, to anybody else or I’m gonna break yo neck , understood??? So I never told it…
Ahhhhhhhhhhh! For crying out loud… if you can’t see where the shooter points, then pick a side dive in and what’s made that’s that, even if you conceder a goal it won’t be your fault…
ps why do you ask this kind of questions people... what's your problem!

The only sure way is if the kicker makes a mistake. And stay put. Check this: how many balls go close enough for the keeper to stop the ball if he didn't dive too soon.

You need to determine as quickly as possible how the pk taker is going to kick the ball, then dive for that direction. I guess...

keep wiggling your body like worm before the opponent shoots the ball. I know it sounds kinda silly, but it is very helpful becuz it confuses your opponent. Second, keep eye contact with your opponent untill he looks down to shoot the ball, This will show that you are confident and intimidating. Next, Look at your opponent's position right before shooting the ball, if your opponent curves his body to his right then he his most probably goig to shoot the ball to your left. Finally, Take a small jump forward just as soon a your opponent touches the ball and right before moving to a side.

It's mostly guessing which way the kicker will shoot the ball. You have approximately 10 milliseconds to determine the trajectory and angle off the kicker's foot, and hope your hand is in the right place. Good luck!
