If you can't operate the Check Spelling button your probably going to have a hard time with a piano<<<<<< just my opinion.

You can get some very good self teach books if you don't want the expense of a teacher - BUT - you can get into bad habits if you are self taught. The best bet is to find a teacher who suits your style. Some will make you do grades - some will focus on classical - some will work with your fav choice of music.
Playing an instrument is a great skill to gain.
