That would depend on the animal. My little dogs have a different purpose (companionship) than a rhinoceros or a shark. Each has its own purpose, some of which are easily recognizable and some of which are more difficult for us to understand.

Same as yours, to love, reproduce and enjoy life and be a companion to mankind. Most animals love people.
Ecclesiastes 3:19 for there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast and they all have the same eventuality. As the one dies so dies the other and they all have but one spirit so there is no superiority of the man over the beast. for everything is vanity. They are all going to the same place. They have all came to be from the dust and they are all returning to the dust.

they were put on earth to heal.When does a animal so i hate you or I'm leaving you for a new owner?they heal the sick the lonely all the older people in nursing homes get so much love from these animals.

procreation, for some, the cycles of nature such as bees pollinating flowers, wolves thinning elk, moose, deer herds...it all fits. Dogs were bred for specific tasks, or as companions. Animals are also part of the food chain.
