well it depends what league your in and how old you are. if you saying it to the ref like telling him off and he hears you then yes he will give you a penalty.
in the NHL you see them swearing all the time but them to if they tell the ref to f-off they to get penalty, do you ever wonder why a ref is giving a penalty to the coach its because they are telling the ref to go f-u-c-k him self. sure the players are swearing at each other but the ref wont call a penalty on the players. but if the players told the ref f-off yes he will give them a penalty.

Two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct. Say it directly to the referee, you may wind up with a game misconduct. Concentrate your energies toward bettering yourself as a player on the ice and as a person off the ice. Keep the F-bombs to yourself.

a penalty should not be rewarded. if using the word constitutes a penalty, than everyone will go the sin bin numerous times.

you wont get a penalty if you only say it a few times...but if it is consistant and you still continue after you have had a warning, you will either get a misconduct or unsportsmanlike penalty

I don't know what you mean by a penalty, but it sure makes you sound like an idoit. Intellegent people can find better ways to communicate than through profanity.

I see a bunch of hockey players say that. They dont get put in the box. I think the only way you can get out in the box for something like that, is when you go over board. Like getting in someones face.
