People still beleive in love, however sometimes the love of $$$ is even stronger. We all have a fear of growing older and not having enough $$ to live on after we retire. THis scares some people and they stay in these relationships for financial security later

Because a credit report is stronger than love! because love can't buy you a home, or get you a car from the dealership, or get you a loan from the bank! If your spouse ruins you financially, I'm willing to bet you will not love them anymore. It's happening more often than you think, especially when you are a couple for a long time and you run up a large debt, buy a house, and have kids, you bet your A$$ you will stay with them, unless you want to be broke and homeless.

some women and men are gold diggers and dont want to make their own money, but alot of people stay in relationships for stability because they have children.Some believed in love so much that they trusted the one they loves so much, that they believed that they were all they would ever need, so they didnt get an education, job skills, save any money of their own and now they feel stuck. Happens alot. It wouldnt be easy for them to step out there alone, so they stay. Sad, but true.

You ask a question that really does not have one answer to it. There are probably a variety of reasons people stay in relationships for financial reasons. Sad to me really. I believe in love and people should be together for love.

finance is probably lower on the list than you would think. There are a host of reasons and often the longer term relationships are maintained mostly on the fear of change. The unknown can be very unsettling, especially as one climbs the ladder of years. It's also hard to admit that love has disappeared.

I think that they are simply too afraid to step out there and live. Money does not solve all your problems, but the lack there of can cause stress on even the best of relationships.
