We faced nastier foes in the Nazis and communists. But we never were so scared to dump the freedoms that make the US so great to begin with. Aren't we 157,934 more times likely to die in a car accident than to be killed by al qaeda? Yet the cons are so scared they're willing to use the Bill of Rights for toilet paper. Where is the cowardice coming from?

We haven't lost ANY freedom.
The Terrorists lost the freedom to make phones calls without being wiretaped.
The Democrats are whining and screaming because the terrorists lost a little privacy.
Let the them write to each other. That's private.

OatesATM, maybe you should study history a little. The Republicans were against WWII and for Isolationism. Read Rex Stouts "The Illustious Dunderheads", it has the voting records and speeches of the Congresspeople that opposed us getting into WWII. Also many prominent Republicans profited by doing business with Nazi Germany. One was Prescott Bush, Director of Union Banking Corporation. That bank was seized by the US Government under the Trading with the Enemy Act. As for 82% of the military voted for Bush, I'd like to see where that is reported. I've searched for the military vote and so far I have only been able to find individual precincts. And the % on the ones I found were 70% for Kerry.

"willing to use the Bill of Rights for toilet paper", "dump the freedoms",and what exactly do you mean by that, how about an example? Who claims it's okay for gays and lesbians to parade half-naked on city streets but wrong to have a manger scene? Who's trying to do away with the second amendment, prayer, the pledge of allegiance, Boy Scouts, God, Christianity, The Ten Commandments, The Patriot Act, even to smoke a cigarette, etc?

particular, yet smoke and mirrors is each and all of the republicans understand. Obama has been finding too stable which potential yet another Democrat will probably get picked as president in 2016 so the Republican are going after his cupboard... Hillary, the IRS, Rice and Eric Holder. Why might desire to the tea party get political welfare interior the 1st place. we are fairly getting to understand so plenty extra approximately those 501 C-4 political communities who're utilising tax shelters for financial benefit than the tea party ever needed us to appreciate. dark money can bypass the tea party's coffers without disclosures and that they don't might desire to pay taxes. in keeping with risk we would desire to constantly all call ourselves political businesses so we don't might desire to pay taxes next 365 days through fact the IRS isn't allowed to question your earnings or inspect it. in simple terms fill out a 501 C-4 variety and supply your self a political sounding call. particular, coming up jobs which might help the financial equipment might desire to be each and every ones priority yet whilst Boehner and the tea party congress did that Obama and the Democrats could look stable...paving the way for Hillary or yet another Democratic candidate to win in 2016. Plus, the Capitalists do not prefer to convey the jobs back from China. Wal Mart has in simple terms been named the wealthiest corporation interior the worldwide beating out vast oil for the 1st time in many years. Is does appear like many of the smoke is blowing up of their own faces. i think of it's time to Benghazi Boehner on his situation on jobs.

Mulligans 1: You need to think before you make blanket comments like you did concerning Dems & military service. I served my country and am a Democrat as well. I think all this "fear" comes from the way the Bush administration is portraying their stand on Iraq. They're trying to play this fear card as "if you don't support us you're supporting terror" and that's a load of crap. I support a strong DEFENSE on terror. And for Rumsfeld to make the comments he did the other day is unbelieveable. We need some leadership to try and reunite this country again instead of dividing. We all are citizens, both Republican, Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, Green, etc.

Actually, the German Wehrmacht was not generally "Nazi" and was relatively humane. Even the army of the USSR was not all that terrible so long as they were'nt drunk (they were sometimes better supplied with vodka than with weapons).

I don't see Republicans as particularly "terrified". They're just smart enough to realize that we are now faced with a far more ruthless enemy, and one that doesn't wear a uniform or follow the rules of war, and so they are taking the necessary steps to prevail against that enemy.

We live in a very different world than when we fought Hitler and Communism. We are fighting a foe who puts no value on human life, including his own. Terrorists are creating the terror, not the Republicans. You seem to ask the same type of questions almost daily. You show a real lack of historical knowledge, and a cynicism that is unbecoming. Try to calm down and be supportive and positive, not negative like your liberal friends.

Because they are yellow, just like their president!

They are afraid they might die like they have sent servicemen to die for them! They are unwilling to give up their life for freedom! They are willing to give up all their freedom so they don't have to die, though that likelihood is about Zero!! More than 10 times the number of deaths and murders have occurred in Iraq than in the US by terrorist, and now there is some question as to really what happened on 9/11!

I am not afraid of terrorist! What are they going to do, kill me! That's the price sometimes! I am more likely to be killed in an auto accident! And they are also! Does that stop them from driving?

Dems don't scream in terror because they are too busy trying to appease the terrorists, make sure we don't hurt their feelings. When we faced nazi's the democrats in power were supported by republicans, when we face today's nazi muslim fanatics, democrats do nothing but oppose and undermine the effort. The screaming from republicans is that if we let the liberals back into power, al qaeda will strike again and it could be to take out entire US cities.

They're loosing their grip on the "fear factor" . The Bush gang has cried wolf about six times too many and no one is buyin' their song and dance anymore.
The other RNC puppets are temporarily turning on their fuhror in hopes to get re-elected. Once they get back in, they'll fall in line like ducks in a row. I sure hope the Republican citizens are clever enough to see through this charade.
