I've been thinking and thinking about the name for the heroine in the story I'm writing. She is 15 years old, has long black hair, dark blue eyes, is pretty gentle and peaceful, and loves the night. What should her name be?

Aysel is "moonlight" in Turkish. There is Selene which means "moon" is French, but is relate to the original Greek Goddess of the moon which is spelled the same way. Amaya is "night rain" in Japanese. Lila or Lilah both mean "night" in Arabic. Kira is "dark lady" in Celtic or Gaelic.

I just picked out the ones I thought were pretty. Good luck!

Hmmm this is difficult, but the names Nikki and Amy keep popping up in my head. Nikki Anolase or Amy Wiseinhiem.

But when naming characters there are a lot of things to consider, culture, time frame, personality. Ultimately, as Laurell K. Hamiliton says "the character names themself."
