Stainless Steel is not silver at all. It is an iron alloy consisting of Chromium, Nickel, Carbon, Silicone, Manganese and sometimes Molybdenum.

Nopes, they're two different things, like the guy above said, and they're used to make different things too. Stainless steel is used to make different equipment and mechanical/furniture parts, as well as tools and utensils, while sterling silver is mainly used to make jewelry.

If it was sterling silver it would proclaim it, why be known as "stainless steel" when "sterling silver" sounds so much cooler?
