My best friend in the whole world dumped me this week. Aparently, he's been in love with me for some time and can't bear to see me with someone else. I love him with all my heart but my feelings for him are not romantic at all. However, I feel as if my heart has been shattered and my world has been turned upside down. Will we ever regain the friendship or will things always be this awkward?

Its really up to him. Give it time. If you are really close then he will come to his senses eventually. However, from now on you have to be watchful of his feelings.

Wait until he find a girl or guy of his own and check back with him.
Being the single person around a couple is akward without the feelings, let alone...Yeah, not comfy.
He'll be there if you get dumped, though. Just, if you're not attracted to him at all don;t give him any false hope, or he's wasting his life.

I really think you should move on because you will make better friends later on in your life and just forget what happened because it's like if you don't forget it the troubles will keep haunting you. Of course I don't think you want all the troubles on what he did to you follow you and if you don't forget it you will be depressed for a long time. Trust me it works because two of my friends that I once had did that to me and all that bad things things they did to me I just forget it because it's not worth it to not forget abou it at all.
