Hi there depending on the Tree situation: How big, how Tall, how is it laying etc. that maybe why the price is so high. IF you have ins, you need them to know the situation and approve it, otherwise Yes you will be taken advatage of.
If the tree service is cutting the tree in Chunks, Make sure the chunks will not fall on whatever it's above, if they will Fall you will have even more damage.
Is a Crane involved. Most of the big trees that fall here in the northwest, We come in w/ a Crane. Just for a crane thats about an extra $600 - 800.00 charge. If the job is quick.
Are they going to clean up all the mess?
Are they using a Chipper?
These are other factors.
What kind of tree is it? It could be worth some money, if saved and taken to the Lumber yard.
hope this helps.

That depends on the price of the tree and how much work has to be done. I live in NJ also and paid more than that several years ago to have a tree cut down and removed, and, that was not in an emergency situation. Did you call your homeowners insurance to see if they cover that, they should. Maybe they can send someone over. Also, was the tree on your property or someone else's? If it was on a neighbors property, and it fell on your house, their insurance should pay for it. If it was on public property owned by the town, you are out of luck. Hope this helped you!

in case you purchase a tree now, or in 2 weeks does not make plenty distinction. each and all of the timber are decrease around the comparable, often in mid to previous due Oct. it rather is even possible procuring it in the previous and getting watered faster might extend its "existence." or you may desire to bypass to a decrease your person farm, which will nicely be a great relatives day out. in case you chosen this direction, degree the section the place you intend to place it, and bring alongside a tape degree, timber in no way look as vast interior the "wild."

Best bet is to call around to any and every tree trimming and arborists you can find in the yellow pages and check your local chamber of commerse as well.
I am sure you can get a better price.... for one tree even if it is on a house that is a bit expensive.

If you think that's to much, call other removal service companies and get their estimate before making your choice of a company to do the work!

That's a big job and they have to be careful to avoid damage to your house so I guess that factors in to what they charge. Or you could try shopping around if your not happy.
