I highly recommend you download SUPERantispyware. It will fix that problem. It is VERY VERY effective and it is free.

Sounds like a virus infection of some sort.

Open up Task Manager, Networking tab and see if the network activity is zero when you've got no browsers running. If it isn't then you've got some sort of infection

Best way to remove it is a fresh install of windows over the top of a reformatted disk.

You'll need to install AND UPDATE anti-virus and anti-spyware software. I use NOD32 for AV and AdAware and Spybot for AS but have a look on the web and make up your own mind.

You'll also need a firewall. If you're using a router then use the firewall on there and also a software firewall like Zone Alarm or Comodo to monitor outgoing traffic.

Latest reserach shows that an unprotected computer will only last about 11 minutes before picking up an infection.

what is your hardware the reason your computer could be slow is that the technology in it is old. I should know since I am running an AMD K6 166 MHz processor, 196 megs of ram a 10 gig hard drive on a 28.8 dial-up connection running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition service pack 2 embedded. and a 16 meg video card, if your computer is as old or older than my replace it with a new one. However if your problem is in the software department http://www.magnisiummedia.com has literally tons of free software to help you out with this website is owned and operated by the PC FREEWARE magazine you can get at a magazine dealer near you.

Noooo, Dont run AVG its awful. Try CCleaner to clear out your registry and repair any hard drive issues. Also run AdAware SE and I would get Zone Alarm. Even the free Firewall is great. If you can afford it or "Aquire" it, get the full version with virus protection. Keep you protected. ;)

Congrad. You have a spyware...
Check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaw... and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/)...... to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections. All three programs are free.
