My boyfriend is going over seas to play basketball and he asked if I would go with him. We both will have graduated from college w/ no kids. Some ppl are telling me to go for the experience, others say dont it will ruin the relationship. I really love him, yes we've had the usual petty relationship issues but other than that we have a very open and honest relationship, Any suggestios on what I should do?

We've been together for a year. But we were friends for 2 years before we started dating. We have a pretty open relationship we can talk about almost anything.

Go with him... But have a talk first and make sure you both understand being overseas in a different culture will be stressful and if those stresses begin changing your relationship you will return here for a while.... If you are both upfront and honest in not wanting the experience to ruin your relationship it won't because you will be prepared with contingency plans to avoid the ruin.. ..

You never mentioned how long you have been with your boyfriend. I think that it could be a wonderful experience for you. My concern would be if you haven't been with your boyfriend for a long time and you're going over there while the relationship is still in the "new" phase. Going overseas and then having your relationship go sour without your support system with you would be a difficult thing to handle alone. Evaluate what (if anything) you would be giving up by staying here and whatever you decide, make an informed choice.

You may only have one chance to go and I'd take it. I do not believe in sex before marriage and I hope your relationship is not that physical, but the chance of living overseas and learning a new culture and language is an opportunity not to be missed.

Personally I think it is a chance in a lifetime .. I also think that if you decide to go (which I prolly would) just make sure you have money to come back if things don't work out there.

Always have a back-up plan ... just in case!

Take care eh! :-)
