I am lucky and have very nice neighbours (touch wood and all that). One of them yesterday (a retired gardener gent) repaired the dry stone wall in my garden. Very kind I thought.

Manbearpig - if you are referring me then you are sadly mistaken. Secondly, do not use the term "retard" as it is very offensive term. It certainly implies that you believe people with learning difficulties are unworthy people. Go get a life. You are reported.

I have a crazy neighbour. She is very old and told all the other neighbours I play loud music 24/7. She then told the Police that I stole plants from her garden and a policeman came round to my house and questioned me. The policeman told me that she was furious that he did not hear the music when he was in her house, she even sang along to it, it was hymns she could hear - but it was inside her head! He doubted that the missing plants were ever there. Social Services were called in and she is still there. Unfortunately none of the other neighbours talk to me as I am quite new to the area and they sided with her. It's not a very nice situation however my house is lovely and I ain't selling up. At least I don't get bothered by anyone when I'm gardening! You are lucky to have nice neighbours.

I have a neighbour who comes into my garden to steal beans and sends his dog over here to poo.
What he doesn't know is that I have filmed him taking the beans and will post the film on my 360 page when I work out how to do it (I'll try to do that tonight), and also, next week another neighbour is going to help me to erect a seven foot fence.*
*UPDATE* Forget the film, I saved it on a video CD and I cant get it back onto my computer. I might be able to post a still picture instead.

On the whole, my neighbours are great but it only takes one bad one to spoil things for everybody.

One side and opposite are really nice the other side are strange and tense moments were had many years ago but time and circumstances are great healers. We are on nodding and Hello terms now with the odd short conversation but their is a an after taste that lingers.

All of my neighbours are great Geekie. I wouldn't say that they would mend my dry stone walling but pretty close.

They're not in your face but if you need them they're right there for ya. You can't put a price on the Geekie the love of my life.

i had nice neighbours. unfortunately they moved out and our new neighbours moved in. they throw wild parties that last until 4AM and leave their radios blasting music. our houses are about a mere 6-8 feet away from each other and i think it's very inappropriate and just disrespectful to do that.

you are vey lucky to have nice neighbors =]

I rarely see our next door neighbours, they are always travelling abroad, when they do come home, they would pop over to say 'Hello' sometimes, a coffee and a quick natter, and off they go until another 2-3 months.

We dont have any neighbors. Oh, well, I suppose we DO but they are 1.5 miles away so they are good neighbors. We wave at them and they wave at us when we pass on the road. One neighbor tried to dig us out when our driveway was buried during a blizzard last year. Got their tractor stuck. My husband and son had to trek half a mile down the snowed in driveway with shovels to help dig the tractor out. Had another neighbor bring over their bulldozer to get us out.

We have good folks out here in the Heartland of America!

Very nice, thankfully. However a few years ago we were not so lucky, had really evil neighbours who put their music on v loud whenever my newborn baby cried.
