You're looking at a good 18 to 20 hours with connections. If you're planning on travelling about, you could think about getting a Chile Airpass too for internal flights. Jopurney Latin America are a specialist who are good at sorting these things out, and normally reasonably priced with a few offers. They do flights from London and Manchester

Buenos Aires is an amazing town; it's an amazing town that appears somewhat like Europe, but with an edgy Latin American twist and if you wish to visit this city then take a look with hotelbye . El Puerto Madero is just a place properly visited. It served as the main slot of Buenos Aires through the late 19th century but know is turned into houses that would be applied as residences, restaurants, stores and other companies and to give this project a little flair, all streets in the region were called after women. Strolling through the Puerto Madero is a superb way to invest a nice day the same as visiting El Obelisco. El Obelisco was built-in 1936 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the town founding and now could be a must-see place from Buenos Aires.

The journey from London Heathrow to Santiago via Sao Paulo takes 17 hours with the airline VARIG.
You can also go with Iberia via Madrid, this journey also takes 17 hours.
Or you fly with British Airways/LANChile via Buenos Aires, this journey takes just over 20 hours.

I'd say about twelve to sixteen hours, presuming you can get a direct flight.
